This patient, insightful introduction to the audition is meant to orientate the nubee to the challenge of the in-person audition. This 4 class, once a week class sets the actor up for Part 2 which goes deeper into what’s possible for the aspiring actor:

SOME BASICS:

  • Upon Receiving sides. The only necessary response to the email from CD.

  • Script Breakdown, 90% of work at home. Why it's necessary.

  • Maintaining balance and presence from home through the audition. It's a journey.

  • Waiting room: Sign in, Psyche protection, Focusing on work in waiting room. Phones off.

  • Leaving the room for any reason. Bathroom, Emergency call. Who is your contact?

  • Entering the audition room and the expected behavior. Addressing the CDs / others.

  • Who you will see there and what do they do?

  • Hitting your mark. What is it and WHY is it important. The ONE Question... Frame and

    Slating according to CD instructions.

  • How much time between action and dialogue and end of dialogue and cut? It is a good

discipline and why is it necessary in the film industry. (Cut time etc.)

  • What props are allowed.
